Christmas is Coming again with One Two Tree

Just quietly it’s the 1st of August. Can I be the first to say Christmas is coming! Well it is for us. Just so you know we are getting ready to produce another Eco Friendly Forrest of Christmas Trees for you and your families to enjoy this Christmas. Hooray! Including all of our hand made, hand painted, Australian, sustainable wooden decorations. They are apart of our Christmas Collection and they are the kind of keepsake decorations that you will treasure and proudly bring out year after year. Then one day when your children are older and beginning families of their own they will absolutely cherish these Christmas decorations as they are the very symbolic icon of their Christmas memoirs.

Our Wooden Christmas Baubles are available with sit on dowel prongs (especially made for our Christmas Tree) or in a hanging variation as pictured for all Christmas Trees.

Returning to Life Instyle this August

One Two Tree participating in Life Instyle

We’re super excited for our return to Life Instyle this August. It was great to meet and partner with so many wonderful Australian Stockists in 2015. We can’t wait to do the same again this year!

We are thrilled to continue showing off our beloved Christmas Tree, Message Boards, and other Australian made products at Life Instyle this year! It was a pleasure to meet so many people who shared our passion for sustainability and locally made goods. Although it hasn’t been easy, we definitely know that we’ve made the right choice being an all-Australian business. We thank you for your support!

At this year’s Life Instyle, we are also pleased to be introducing our new range of Treasure Boards and Little Aussie Treasures in person! As well as some other goodies that are yet to be announced! All Made from 100 % sustainable Australian plywood, of course.

We’ve had such fun designing and creating this year and hope you’ll enjoy meeting our little Aussie creations as much as we’ve enjoyed making them!

Looking forward to meeting you upstairs at Life Instyle, stand 2157 from the 4th – 7th of August!

Little treasures in the making

Currently in the One Two Tree studio, we are in the midst of a very exciting project. The type of project that gets our blood pumping, and our hearts in a little flutter. We’ll give you a few clues: it involves hand-crafting, some plywood (sustainably sourced, of course), and our signature touch of Australiana. Yes, we’ve got some Little Aussie Treasures in development!

We love our Aussie Treasure Board so much that we’ve decided to design some furry friends to perch upon it. Our beautiful country of Australia has some of the most unique animals in the world, and we’d like to share them with you. Meet the Wombat, Kangaroo, Echidna, the Koala that sits in the Gum Trees. And a rainbow ‘cos Australia is just our pot of gold.

We’re still in the prototyping phase, but they are already looking so darn cute! We just couldn’t keep them to ourselves! Here’s a sneak peak of how the little tackers are shaping up so far:

Stay tuned for more adorable updates coming soon.

Hanging with art

With the arrival of our new 30cm Art Hanger, we thought we’d share our favourite wall hangings to inspire you with some visual goodness. Now available in three sizes: 30cm, 50cm and 70cm! You’re bound to find one that is the perfect fit for your art hanging needs.

Hang anything from your linen tea towels, wall weaves, kids masterpieces. From collages to photographic prints and more. The plywood and natural tan leather string provides the perfect canvas for showcasing your art in a clean and minimal style.

With the larger 50cm and 70cm Art Hangers, a fab trick we love is hanging two smaller pieces side by side. A great idea for collating your kid’s artworks or a mini-series of artworks.

It is oh so simple to swap and change artworks on a regular basis for a refreshed feel. The Art Hanger – simple in design, but so genius in nature.

Care instructions:
Here’s a little tip for framing a precious paper piece of art. Cut one strip of paper or card, fold in it half and sandwich the original between them, then place it inside the Art Hanger. Firstly, this protects the corners of the original and secondly, it provides a better grip for any of your lighter weight papers. This is also a good idea if you are framing any pastel work, or anything that could smudge the Art Hanger. Our Art Hangers are raw and naturally unstained. Therefore, it needs a little bit of care and attention.

Little Treasure

My Treasure Board

A little over a year ago I began developing ideas for things to decorate my son’s room with. I ended up designing what is now known as the My Treasure Board. It was named ‘treasure’ after all the little trinkets and prized possessions you could display upon it. But also as an ode to our beautiful island nation.

Where else in the world can you find such wide-open landscapes displaying such a contrast of rich colours and textures? Our land is one of a unique mixture of luscious bushland, sunburnt plains and white sandy beaches. Home to many animals that are found nowhere else in the world. And home to people of many different backgrounds, cultures, religions and histories.

Let’s never forget to protect our natural environments – on-land, and under the sea. Let’s never forget to respect and be kind to one another. This Australia Day, and every other day, let’s never forget to continually discover, appreciate and enjoy the simple pleasures and beauties of this treasured land.

DIY paper stars by Minieco

One Two Tree Paper Star 1

If you’re looking for a more personal touch to your Christmas decorations and ornaments, look no further than Minieco! At http://www.minieco.co.uk you’ll find loads of cute and colourful creations to craft out of paper card.

After much deliberation, we decided on trying our luck at the Cut-And-Fold Paper Stars. We chose a pearlescent cream card, downloaded the free template and got to it.

You will need:

    • – Cutting mat
    • – Scissors
    • – Blade
    • – Ruler
    • – Hole punch
    • – Adhesive
    • – Paint brush
    • – Minieco template printed on the paper of your choice
    • – String

paper star templates

  1. Step 1. Carefully cut out each template
  2. Step 2. Using the ruler as a guide, gently score along each line
  3. Step 3. Fold along each line that you have just scored
  4. Step 4. Punch a hole at the indicated spot in the middle of the template
  5. Step 5. Cut a piece of string about 30cm long, loop through the hole and tie a small knot on the inside of the star
  6. Step 6. Brush on a small amount of adhesive to each of the smaller tabs and stick together (it may be a little bit easier to stick one tab at a time)
  7. Step 7. Decorate your OneTwoTree Christmas tree!

Happy crafting!

A merry one two tree christmas

merry christmas tree

There really is just something about Christmas…

Whether it’s time off with your loved ones, delicious feasting and community spirit or pressies given and received, we love it through and through.

Anyone who’s familiar with the One Two Tree story would know that it’s this wonderful time of year that inspired our journey into the small business world. We’re never ones for plantation chop-downs and cheap plastic destined for land fill. So we found ourselves stumped when searching for a beautifully designed, utilitarian and most of all eco friendly tree option for our first family Christmas. We donned our hard hats and decided to build our own, and have kept on building them ever since!

Minimal, sophisticated, neutral and luxe. The One Two Tree Christmas Tree has been our signature, Australian designed and made product for 4 years now.

That said, not a year has gone by without numerous requests for a large tree addition to the One Two Tree family. So, in 2015, those wishes have all come true!

This year at One Two Tree we present you with two gorgeous, sustainable wooden Christmas tree’s. Weighing in at 85cm and 150cm high, if you find you can’t choose, why not bring home both! We’ve built them to last you a life-time. Also to bring love and light to any corner of any room each and every Christmas season.

Stay tuned for more Christmas offerings from us! And whatever you do, we hope you give a little love to our planet this silly season. Whether it’s investing in well-made pieces and shunning plastic nasties, or recycling wrapping and shopping locally. Nothing’s ever too small to make an impact.

One Two Tree bigger & bolder than ever!

Large-Tree-Edit

Let it never be said that we at One Two Tree fail to heed the cries of our beloved friends and customers.

Who knows how many emails, comments and friendly phone calls we’ve received requesting our signature eco-friendly Christmas tree in a larger, more traditional size. We have finally buckled down and built the damn thing! And now we must thank you, you persistent people. What we’ve created is something bigger, bolder and just so so beautiful. Right in time for your 2015 Christmas celebrations!

Large-Tree-Edit2

Standing at a glorious 150cm and weighing in at almost 15kg – our Large One Two Tree is an absolute beauty. All-Australian designed and made to last you and your family a happy lifetime. Let us banish those plastic, land-filling nasties from your home, office or retail space once and for all.

finalists for the etsy design awards

Back before the .com revolution we were humble little craft sellers on Etsy. We’ve continued to showcase our One Two Tree range on this platform for clever, crafty creatives. We receive many enquires world wide through Etsy and truly treasure our place in its super supportive community.

Nothing could make us prouder to be nominated as a finalist for the 2015 Etsy Design Awards! Not to mention the prize – a trip for two to NYC with a bit of cash on the side! We’re passionate about spreading the sustainable-living love that is One Two Tree far and wide, and see cheap plastic trees banished from land fill. life in style, melbourne 2015

Next week we’re taking one of the biggest leaps we’ve ever taken since starting our little Aussie company. We’re exhibiting at Life Instyle in Melbourne, and boy has it been a crazy few weeks of prep for the big show!

We make no secret of how proud we are to be an all-Australian company. Sourcing sustainably grown Australian plywood, and manufacturing locally in Sydney and Melbourne. Anyone who’s ever navigated the tricky terrain of an Australian-made business will know what we mean when we say it’s not always easy going. Costs are high for our gorgeous wood products, and making them viable for wholesale is tricky. But with the support we’ve had from a few key stockists around Australia, we’ve built up the confidence to make the investment, and exhibit in a trade fair. After all, we’ve been making our beloved Christmas tree for three years now, and haven’t done it the justice of showing it off properly!

Not to mention, we’re super excited about this next chapter for One Two Tree. With our expanded product range including brand new paper and textile wall art, the Art Hanger, our popular Message Boards and everything else between.

We can’t wait to meet and (hopefully) partner with unique Australian stockists who share our passion for sustainability and Australian-made products. Come and see us upstairs at Stand 2157 and let’s make some magic happen!

the accidental hero, the art hanger

The Art Hanger Prints 4

One of the biggest pleasures of the work we do is being able to connect with other talented Australian designers and makers. Most recently, my friend Jo of Bondi-based paper and textile studio Laikonik came to me for a plywood product to display her hand silk-screened tea towels.

I was happy to help, of course, but I didn’t realise just how much I would come to love the product we created. Also how much the market needed a product like this.

Introducing the Art Hanger. Simple in design but so genius in nature. This beauty can hang anything from your macramé wall hangings and kids kindergarten masterpieces. To even your too-good-to-use printed tea towels, art prints and wall hangings. Hang anything you like in the kids room, nursery, kitchen, office, wherever! Easily swap and change your wall art to get a fresh feel with the littlest effort possible.

We’ve barely had time to dream up all the wonderful possibilities for using this product. So we hope you will help do a bit of dreaming for us. We can’t wait to see what you hang!

New product – my treasure board

My Treasure Board - girl style

I don’t know how often you stop to think about it, but there’s a definite beauty and aesthetic to the shape of our beloved land of Australia. I had never really considered it, until in a vintage store I came across an old teaspoon rack shaped in the same way. The silhouette really struck me.

I’d been looking for things to put up in my son’s room. A boy’s bedroom is a bit tricky, I think, when you don’t want to just overdose on prints. I figured an Australia shelf would fit him perfectly, and he could display his most cherished toys. You know, action heroes, matchbox cars and the like.

So I began to develop the My Treasure Board. ‘Treasure’ because of the prized possessions you’d display upon it, but also the idea of ‘national treasure’. I was building a love letter to our sunburnt country, One Two Tree style!

It took serious time to get it right. There’s a reason not many of those teaspoon racks included Tasmania, or used chains to do so! I wanted to include it without any added hardware, only wood. Also to be able to flat pack it and give the user a build-my-own experience, so it couldn’t get too complex. Eventually we got the shelves interlocking just right, so no one needs to feel left out.

Now I love that Ziggy knows what his birth country looks like, and he can easily point to Sydney, where we live. The natural wood grain finish is a beautiful backdrop to his colourful prized possessions, and his boys room wall candy is all sorted!

Custom Projects Welcomes at One Two Tree

Since building our Message Me Board range, we’ve been approached for large-scale signage for retail spaces. Most of these are in consult with interior architects and we’d love to do more! Most recently, we’ve had a custom project to build signage for Uashmama’s new Bondi Beach boutique. We’ve also got more custom projects currently in the works around Australia.

It doesn’t matter the size or location of your project. We’re passionate about building ties in the design community. We’re open to any collaborations you can dream up, be it for the home, interior or business space.

message me boards

One Two Tree Sparkle 710x710

The Message Me Boards. Where to begin on these babies?

I was pregnant with Rhodes, our second boy, and looking for something to seriously sink my teeth into. I’ve always loved the nostalgic, artisan beauty of traditional signwriting. So, fancying myself a future tradie (haha), I found a signwriting course and enrolled. Three days a week for seven months and pregnant. I could do this.

Getting inspired along the way by old school baseball scoreboards, I started experimenting with different typographies in plywood tiles and hooking them onto boards as signs. It didn’t have the sleek aesthetic I wanted, and I modified the design to have the letters slide into place. We continued refining, modifying the letter type to be just right. Staining the tile faces black, mimicking the score tiles.

W12.17jj

And just like that, its 2015, and we’ve been making the Message Me boards for almost a year now! We’re experimenting with sizes, uses, and capabilities. I’m so proud of what we’ve created – something nostalgic but modern, versatile but bold, a timeless product with the quality and craftsmanship to last the distance. Made in Australia from Australian plywood, what’s not to love?

Of course, by the time I’d finished with the boards, my mind was already on to the next thing – Alphabet sets and Sandwich Boards.

Sticking to my guns on the signwriting dream (sort of), the Alpha Set was born. It’s a business’ one-stop shop for affordable, bespoke, and completely customizable signage, when partnered with any of our boards. Packed with multiple letters, numbers and symbols, the Alpha Set lets you spell out anything you can dream up. That’s right, anything.

The Sandwich Board was an obvious next step after perfecting our Message Me Boards. Also, the letter sets to match. We saw a definite gap in the market for a bespoke, up market interpretation of this classic and time tested retail sign concept. So we replaced the tacky steel and plastic construction with our hand crafted, One Two Tree aesthetic. Building something to stop a passersby in their tracks with beautiful design and customiseable commentary.

The One Two Tree Sandwich Board is a statement piece, and an investment for any business. Every component is separately cut, checked and finished before being assembled. Combine this process with the individually CNC routed letter tiles. The One Two Tree Sandwich Board is a mighty piece of work, that gives back 100%. All it needs is an Alpha Set, and you’re off…

2015-05-18 14.19.05

Though my initial focus was always on businesses and larger scale signage, interest soon came from individuals wanting smaller signs for their homes, offices and studios. So we created smaller, double and single row boards and the Beta Set. It’s a more affordable option, filled just with letters, so individuals could have customizable signage at home. Because why not, right?

And so grows our One Two Tree family.

Family portrait-2

Hello again! It’s been pretty quiet in this corner of the blogosphere, and we’re here to make amends.

Since our last little blog update, we’ve welcomed into the world the newest member of our family, Rhodes. We’ve been through all that life, world and brain re-adjusting one does when a new baby comes home with you! He’s now fourteen months and owning life, of course.

But we’re here today to say we’re back on track! We have (you may have noticed) some fresh new products, new collaborations, and even more to come. Keep your eye on One Two Tree, 2015 has been big so far and it doesn’t look like slowing down!

mini honeycomb tissue balls by poppies for grace

mini honeycomb tissue balls

“Where do you get those beautiful paper baubles from?”. This has been a popular question for many of our customers. The answer is: Poppies for Grace

They are called the mini honeycomb tissue balls and they come in every colour under the rainbow. They also come with little a white tie string so you could easily hang them on your One Two Tree branches too. We decided to lose the string and just causally place them on top of each branch in a spiral formation of colour and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Poppies for Grace is the work of besties Alana and Sara. Their business is quite simply a celebration of colour and paper. So if you are celebrating they have you covered with an array of beautiful paper decorations. Their range has it all from lolly bags to stationary, from confetti to wedding invites. It’s a well orchestrated collection of everything you need to soiree in style.

We will be stocking their honeycomb tissue ball very soon, but in the meantime check their website out. Both Alana and Sara are ever so helpful and will literally bend over backwards to help you out.

crystal pyramid poms – decorations now instore

pom one two tree 1

If you’re loving the decorations you see in the picture above well so do we. So much so we are now stocking the Crystal Pyramid Poms online in our shop right now for you to purchase.

Made by the talented artistic duo Dear Plastic they come in a DIY pack of four with easy to follow instructions and beautiful twine string to hang them straight onto your One Two Tree.

We discovered Dear Plastic online and instantly fell in love with their colourful creative ways. Handmade with a watercolor finish each POM is truly captivating and so vibrant and they truly complement our One Two Tree.

We asked Yumi and Taki from Dear Plastic five quick questions

1. How did Dear Plastic form? Dear Plastic started organically. Just the two of us creating and developing ideas together and making things for friends. I guess 3 years ago we decided that we wanted to develop it further and work on our ideas full time.

2. Is this a full time career for you both? Yes.

3. How does sustainability and the environment play a role in your work? The environment and nature is a big influence on our work. We both have a strong connection with Shinto belief and the idea that everything has a Spirit or God. This respect for everything around us leads to sustainable ideas. I guess that keeps us always thinking of ways of creating ideas that have the least impact on the environment.

4. What does POM stand for? POM is the sound of fireworks exploding in Japanese! Our POM’s turn from 2D to 3D over and over again by pulling a string and we think it similar to fireworks going off!

5. What’s next for dear plastic, new products? exhibitions? We are working on a window installation for Pieces of Eight gallery in Melbourne at the moment. That will open on the 3rd of Dec. We will have a stall at the upcoming  Markit at Fed Square in Melbourne and then at Finders Keepers in Sydney. We’re really interested in collaborating and working on larger spaces for installations.

We hope you like them as much as we do.

swing tags styling with your one two tree

one two tree w swing tags 1

Here we have a lovely minimalist look with our One Two Tree slightly open from it’s flat facing stand. We found these lovely metal swing tags! We thought how nice it would be to write the names of our family members on each one. If you were thinking how can you DIY this look yourself, try finding some beautiful coloured paper cards. Then make a similar swing tag template then hand cut them to size. Hole punch and thread a contrast ribbon through and voila! So easy.

feedback from a beautiful customer in Italy

This morning we received some lovely honest feedback from one of our International customers in Italy which we thought we would share with you all. We literally posted this tree to Italy less than 48hrs ago. Bravo DHL! We’re very impressed with your international express shipping service. We’re just so happy to receive customer feedback about our One Two Tree. We encourage any of our customers to email us with their feedback and or send in pictures of their decorated One Two Trees. We hope this feedback helps with any of our discerning buyers.

Dear Antony + Lucy + Ziggy

Hey, the courier just rang at our door and delivered our one two tree!

Our one two tree looks as great as I had it pictured when I ordered it, but feels even better once put together.

Whatever sealer was used on it (if any at all), it’s matte, not glossy, so it looks and feels more natural.

Another point that was not to be taken for granted: with both screws positively tightened, it’s sound and firm, no wobble, no swing, no play, you’d say solid as a tree.

The beauty of its proportions belies the fact that this won’t tilt (your worry #1 in terms of product liability, when something is of interest to kids). And, though not my case here, I doubt even the most adventurous toddlers will dare climbing it!

Only pity, in my view, is that the one two tree logo is stamped not on the visible side of the base plate, but on its underside: of course we’ll tell everyone what this is, what its name is, who does it and where to find it… but the idea is so bright that it deserved to show its brand in full glory, so you could pride yourselves from the distance each time one looked at it.

Hope you’ll sell tons of these, anyone who’ll buy it will fall in love with it, and with the idea behind it. It’s one of those things where each and every buyer would feel like “had I had this idea myself, I would have marketed it exactly this way”, from name to brand, from video to visual communication… even the music background to the video is right!

This will keep us going for ages.
Hope the one two tree business will do the same for you, too.

Wholehearted compliments,

Daniele

one two tree and sculptures by the sea

With Sculptures by the Sea in the air of Bondi we thought we’d inspire you all with a little coastal decorating. We sourced the Starfish and Sea Urchin decorations from The Society Inc shop down in Paddington. However, don’t be afraid to get your creative DIY juices flowing and make your own. A glue gun, good quality ribbon and some pretty sea shells or organic beach treasures would look just as fabulous.

For sourcing your own a coastal look try searching on Ebay and Etsy. We also discovered that Simply Shells has a great range online too.

show us your baubles

Nothing beats a beautiful shiny bauble on your Christmas Tree. We styled our One Two Tree using two boxes of baubles purchased from David Jones. Even better yet would be some your your Grans hand me downs with that lovely vintage patina. We spiraled the branches so they where evenly spaced and twisted them in three perfect full circles. Choosing branches and colours at random, we spaced the baubles so that they wrapped around from top to bottom.

One Two Tree is a very convenient size for most houses or apartments. Here, we showed how lovely it can look placed by the fireplace, by the window or even the kitchen bench.

one two tree branding by mark trzopek

onetwotree-branding

We couldn’t be happier with the way our One Two Tree branding turned out and we owe all of our good looks to Mark Trzopek. We’re lucky enough to personally know Mark and were familiar with some of his previous works so we knew we could expect something exceptional. We are not sure Mark had any idea of what sort of trouble he was getting himself into when he took on the One Two Tree brief because as far as clients go we are extremely fussy. Luckily for us he is just as dedicated to perfectionism as we are. Mark really took the reins on the brand design. In keeping with our green ethos, he delivered a smart and environmentally conscious product. We asked Mark a few questions about One Two Tree.

Can you sum up how you tackled the project and your thoughts behind the imagery?

This project sought its solution from the need for packaging that functioned and suited its purpose. The packaging needed to hold a heavy and bulky wooden product that could be re-used, shipped internationally, whilst also having retail appeal/presence. The branding solution originated through the business/product name and the ethos of simplicity and ease. The triangle device represents not only the primary material for the products, woods/trees, but also the easy and simple assembly, as evidenced through the 3 sided shape and its relationship with the wording One Two Tree. One side of the packaging makes use of a  axe silhouette, which is a nostalgic play on the old tradition of going out to fell the families Xmas tree. This brings an element of playfulness and tradition to a new and modern Christmas tree alternative.

What inspires and influences you as a graphic designer?

Well thought out ideas and execution. Less is always more. Art and museums. Surfing and beach culture. as well as making things outside the field of graphic design.

Describe your style as a whole?

I try not have a style in my commercial projects, but adapt what is suitable for the individual product/company and their objectives.

What will you be working on in the next coming months?

– More packaging/branding.
– Annual program for a Sydney based arts & dance organisation.
– E-book branding.
– Branding/rollout for a new cafe/bar coming to Sydneys Northern Beaches.

And hopefully lots more unexpected projects in the new year.

You can email Mark at marktrzopek@gmail.com with any web, design or branding enquiries.

all tied up with string with one two t

Another great idea for decorating your One Two Tree is a nontraditional one but a creative one. We styled our tree in an “X” formation and using two different colours of chord string we threaded and knotted through the holes of each branch.

To start with you need to cut two lengths of the pink chord string at 200cm and four lengths of the green chord one at 200cm. Knotting one end of the pink string you thread up from one corner of the bottom branches first, threading through the hole of each branch directly above. Work your way up to the top and then follow down the opposing side till you reach the bottom. Tie off the pink string keeping the line fairly tight but not too tight. Repeat this step on the other side, they will overlap at the very top.

With the green chord string you start at the very top of one of the four branches. Thread the green string through the top branch hole so that roulette online it evenly halves and you have two ends, one in each hand. Simply cross and tie the string like you are tying a shoe lace and thread one end through the next branch hole. Repeat the cross over tie and work your way down the branches one at a time tying off at the end. Again keep the string fairly tight but not too tight. Do this four times on each side. If the end of your chord string is fraying use a match flame to burn and melt the end so that it can be easily threaded.

You can easily experiment and do several different combinations. This is just one idea – imagine what else can be done. We will share another tied up idea with you very soon.

a small fyi update on our sustainable products

Just a little FYI update! One Two tree was designed with sustainable ethics in mind. We contacted an industrial designer first up to help us tweak our design so we could cut the most amount of trees without wasting an inch of plywood. Our Trees are CNC routed for a perfectly cut finish by our exclusive craftsmen Neil. He then carefully hand bevels the edge of each individual piece to ensure they are of the highest quality standard. The trees are then carefully packed into our recyclable environmentally friendly boxes. They are packed along with all the instructions and hardware ready to be wrapped up and shipped to you.

Tin Soldiers

A great idea for decorating your One Two Tree is to either hang or place tin soldiers at either end of your branches. We have just slightly twisted our branches in pair’s to form a partial spiral. Without over crowding the tree we have placed a soldier on every second branch. The possibilities are endless. By the way we found our wooden Tin Soldiers at David Jones in the city for $7.99 each.

We made this little video to introduce ourselves and to tell you about our One Two Tree story. Shot and edited by the talented Trevor King. A big special thank you to Sammy, Jackie and Aaron, without their kindness we wouldn’t have been able to make this video. We hope you like it.

Welcome

Welcome to our official One Two Tree website! We’re finally live and ready to spread our little Christmas tree far and wide. Remember that shipping to destinations within Australia is free until Christmas!

sustainability

We created One Two Tree to provide a stylish alternative to traditional Christmas trees. We also created it to promote sustainability with our environmentally friendly products.

One Two Tree is proudly hand-crafted from Australian Hoop Pine plywood. Austral Plywoods from HQPlantations (HQP) sources our beautiful wood. They are a sustainable plantation in Queensland’s lush Mary Valley.

Wood products – including plywood – are a renewable resource that play a significant role in tackling climate change. Growing trees store carbon by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This carbon remains locked in the wood even when used for building products or furniture.

Hoop Pine (Araucaria Cunninghamii) is a native Australian specie. It’s generally a whitish or light-colour with a straight grain and fine to very fine texture. Plywood is often used in place of wood due to its resistance to cracking, shrinking, splitting, and twisting. It is also extremely strong! That means your One Two Tree can be re-used year after year without the wear and tear of a plastic tree.

HQP is independently certified under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) forest management standard and the Australian Forestry Standard (AFS). Both forest certification systems require HQP to meet internationally-accepted criteria for sustainable forest management covering economic, social, environmental and cultural perspectives.
